Wrong impressions about life in America, the ease of getting money, fleet of cars, mansions, lucrative jobs and boxes of goods for sale all of which feed the grave danger facing people visiting home and sadly , all wrong impressions. If this were a movie which could be redone, a lot of things would be rewritten and redone. It is very sad indeed. I hope lessons are learned from this.

Keeping a very low profile before, during and after visiting home is of utmost importance. Painting such a glamorous picture of life in America is another great disservice some of us inadvertently do to ourselves. I have no idea who makes this easy money I hear about and how much of it they get to keep after paying the various taxes, bills, car payments and everything else that need to be paid.
It is of utmost importance that the folks back home start understanding that life is not easy at all for those outside Nigeria . Many people charge their tickets on credit cards, charge the goods they are taking on cards and take cash advances for the money they take with them and go home with the heavy yoke of debt around their necks and yet create a very wrong impression when they get there. This must change. We need to start telling it as it is. Many people back home are better off than many of us. Many of them will not condescend to do the kind of work some of us do here to earn money. It would be beyond them, yet the belief is generally of life so easy, money so abundant and it is all a mirage.

The Polygamy connection, I will not even touch. That one is a story for another day.

Who killed Ifeoma?
Fingers can point at Mogambo (her father) considering his past records, her uncle who was offering use of his hummer while Ifeoma awaits her jeep. Yes, her achievements in the States is enough to drive an Ibo man mental. I had the same experience. It is very possible her ex organized her death. I know and believe it is her ex who killed her because of the way she was shot in her private part three times.
My ex husband would organize my own death if I visited home. He’s bitter that I am doing well. He’s a bloody loser, yet I am the one fending for our son.
Women in similar circumstances please be careful especially if your ex has moved back home. No law protects you the ex wife, worse if t hey are losers, which has often been the case. They can’t afford to live and see you doing so well…not when you are a nurse in the states.
Ibo men can be losers. Have a look around, all those men who left and returned home after divorce have all been losers. They are deadly. They have joined cults and would kill. Ex wives please be careful and keep safe.
It is a shame Ifeoma did not smell how deadly her ex was.
If I went to Nigeria, I bet I would be obituary in 2 hours. My ex was nothing, had nothing but wanted everything. Have no career but would want to become a millionaire overnight in Ibo land. Yes, I know he is in a cult. he can now use his new wife and children for donation. He is still scratching a living. I have not seen his wealth yet. Losers have idle minds and would kill. A man who has scruples would show it and be contented. As a loser, all you know and speak is evil.
